I'm closing tonight and its supposed to snow/ice/sleet whatever.
Im in memphis and we dont do winter weather well.
My store is out kinda in the middle of nowhere and depending on who I'm closing with it woucl be a 45 minute to an hour drive home. If the weather gets bad enough and i feel like we should close for my partners saftey, how do I go about doing that?

I got this from a friend of mine...allison...it was on her journal...i figured it was soo worth posting...lol





I was thinking today that not to many guys that I know honestly know how to treat a girl. I was starting to think that maybe there should be a class for guys to take to help them understand girls. So I thought maybe I would post something I found about girls to help all you fellas out!

TEN TIPS ABOUT GIRLS

1. Honesty is the best policy.... because 90% of the time we either know or will figure out if you are lying... If you are unhappy with something or covering something up, don't forget that ladies have pretty good intuition. We're probably going to be able to figure it out, and most of the time it isn't going to be pretty when we finally do find out you have been less than truthful. I prefer it (and most gals I know do too) when a guy can come to me with a problem in the relationship or something on his mind, don't act like your ok with something if your not-- that's just irritating. Get it off your chest- you'll feel better, and your girl will appreciate your straightforwardness....

2. Don't be brutally harsh though... If you keep something built up over a long period of time and then let it explode- or if your girlfriend asks you, "Do I look fat in this?" you don't have to be nasty- explain it in a nice way....

3. Girls Like Feelings... Now all of us get very defensive when we feel like we are being attacked and we all want to come out like the good guy-- but think of it this way-- even if your girl is mad as a hornet and not about to give in, remember that we are probably taking what you are saying a hundred times more personal than you mean it. Stop thinking about you for a minute and think about what your girlfriend is saying and without giving in on your point say something like, "I understand how you are feeling..." or "I feel this way when you say or do this..." Girls focus on feelings so by beginning a statement by saying "I feel" you are going to tune her in to your point of view.

4. Girls like Romance.... No matter what girls say we like the sappy cards, the love notes, the flowers, the heart shaped pancakes in the morning... a little bit goes a long way. Especially if you know your girl has been stressing, or when she least expects it-- not just on Valentines or a day that is special to both of you like an anniversary. Plan something that lets your girl know that she is incredibly special to you... The payoff will be big I assure you.

5. Be A Gentlemen.... Open car doors, pick up the check, lift her over a big puddle so her new shoes don't get ruined- that is romantic in itself... Take a note from old time movie stars like Cary Grant and Clark Gable- women like Gentleman. Especially if you are in the comfortable stage of your relationship-- open a car door for your girlfriend or go the extra mile and you are going to get great feedback and most importantly your girls going to get little warm fuzzies and totally appreciate it...

6. Girls like Phone Calls... We all know about "boy time" but if you say you are going to call don't be a jerk and then don't. You know the girl is crazy about you and probably has opened up time to talk to you so don't blow her off and then wonder why she gets upset about it. You don't have to be phone person-- five or ten minutes is good. You want to really wow her? Text her from a class, or from work just to let you know that you are thinking about her or drop her an email-- nothing long or sappy just sweet. Think of something along these lines and your going to look like superman....

7. Be Her Hero.... When I've had a really bad day at work or at school or at home... I get so worked up and stressed out over even the littlest thing. Maybe your girl's had a tough day and feeling a lot of pressure- maybe a little cranky (it happens to the best of us) the best thing to do is simple. When a girl is experiencing a small meltdown be her hero. What do I mean by that? Relieve the stress with a hug, make her dinner, be a listener to her tough problems, take her in your arms and tell her everything will be ok, tell her you love her, give her useful advice, run an errand for her, give her a massage, draw her a bath.... A girl needs a hero to rescue her when life gets to be too much-- all girls want to be rescued and will appreciate your guesture....

8. Girls are Jealous... No matter what girls say... (I know someone is going to disagree with this so lets just say most girls I know) we are jealous. Don't ooh and aah over Britney Spears' awesome body, don't oogle a hottie at the mall, and above all do not talk about your ex like she was an angel. (That's my personal relationship pet peeve. ) It sounds petty but- no girl I know likes that- sorry. Yeah we might talk about Brad Pitt's heinie in Troy but Men are just naturally visual creatures. We don't like hearing about other girls and their superiority to other women- because we're included in that sub-superior group. Your girl likes to feel like the only woman in your eyes. If you tell your current girlfriend how great your last girlfriend was-- she's going to wonder why you are with her in the first place. I'm not saying don't be open about past relationships-- be honest remember? But-- don't rub in how wonderful she was, bottom line: that hurts. We're not saying that you aren't human- we know you are going to look and have feelings but be respectful and be kind.

9. Reassure her.... This means telling her you love her, tell her how special she is... don't overkill it with I love you after every single phone call, or every other minute... make it mean something-- females can be insecure and a little reassurance now and then will mean a lot....

10. GIRLS ARE INDEPENDENT!! One of the last relationships I was in, I got the third degree for everytime that I went out with my friends, even my family. Trust us!!! You don't have to know where your girl is every second of every day. We like our time to ourselves... We like our independence, we suffered long and hard for it! If we want to go out with our girlfriends leave it alone-- believe me because its just time between girls and its going to piss us off if you go out with your guys and then have a problem with us going out. We hate double standards.

yes, contrary to popular belief I am alive....i havent posted in forever in a day and im sorry for that.

umm....classes have been crazy busy...im in the darkroom all the time...its insane.
my french class is crazy hard. That teacher gives us soooo much work...it sucks.

i am going to philly in a week to visit my pathaways buddies...soooo excited.

I am also going up to north dakota over holloween weekend. Brandon and I are going to summit. summit is the planning meeting for this summer. so double yay!!!
